After spending many years of gargling with broken glass, rusty nails and Vimto, Darren has honed his vocal technique so that he now sounds like a bit of a cross between Meatloaf/ Rod Stewart and the hound of the baskervilles. He is so dedicated to his art that he has had one of his testicles removed so that he can hit an F# above middle C.

'I started playing guitar about the age of 16 and joined my first band when I was 19. I’ve played in quite a few, some good some not so good. At the age of 30 I went to Coventry university for the performing arts where I did a national diploma in music. From there I moved on to Stafford university where I did a bachelor of science honours degree in music technology. I currently work for Coventry performing arts service as a guitar/ vocal teacher. I also teach GCSE music composition and A-level music technology.'
